James Edward Franco (born April 19, 1978) is an American actor, voice actor, director, producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, editor, performance artist and film professor who played Branson in the 2017 film Alien: Covenant,[1] as well as the 2017 short film The Last Supper, although he was not credited for the role. Other notable films Franco has appeared in include 127 Hours (2010), Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy (2002-2007). As a director and producer he has perhaps most notably helmed The Disaster Artist (2017), which he also starred in.
Franco has won two Golden Globes and has been nominated for an Oscar.
