Jake Sinclair[4] was a Seegson employee and the leader of the Seegson Security team aboard Sevastopol Station. When a lone Xenomorph was unleashed on the station by the crew of the USCSS Anesidora in 2137, he became one of the survivors desperately waiting for rescue.

Numerous audio logs are recorded by him and can be picked up.

Sinclair was later killed when a pack of Xenomorphs broke into his team's safe haven. His corpse can be found in the Solomons Habitation Tower along with the bodies of his comrades. Through an audio log, it is revealed that Sinclair had a wife and children.

Allowing Marlow aboard Sevastopol[]

As stated by Dr. Lingard, Sinclair was responsible for allowing the crew of the Anesidora aboard the station, thus inadvertently kick-starting the infestation.

Cutting ties[]

"This is a message for all members of the Seegson Security team. There's been an altercation in the Spaceflight Terminal. Waits doesn't have our back. As of right now no-one hired as Seegson Security is going on-shift. We're cutting ties with the Marshals and everyone else on-station. It's time to take care of our own. I'm going to find someplace safe for everyone to hole up. Money's dried up here. We don't owe these people nothing."
Jake (from Alien: Isolation)

During the Xenomorph outbreak on the station, Sinclair had recorded an audio log for all Seegson Security members to listen to that ordered them to drop their shift and abandon the Marshals, stating that they "don't owe them nothing." His audio logs reveal that he was the leader of a group of survivors that were located in Solomons Habitation Tower where they tried to seal off all access to the area by shutting down elevators, barricading doors and wielding vents shut.

Dealing with Waits[]

"Sinclair, I know we've had our differences since you and your Seegson security team arrived on Sevastopol, but right now we have a severe situation. We need a united front. In return for your total cooperation I am willing to drop my investigation into your involvement in unregistered black market trading and drop all claims I had on the systech spire Marshal office where you and your thugs operate from. Let's do this right."
Waits (from Alien: Isolation)

Marshal Waits recorded an archive log for Sinclair, explaining that although the two have had their differences ever since his security team arrived on Sevastopol, they needed a united front in dealing with the infestation. He added that in exchange for Sinclair and his team's full cooperation, he will even drop his investigation in Sinclair's black market dealings. Sinclair declined this offer.

Later on, Waits learned that Sinclair and his men were shooting at civilians, raiding supplies, and taking other survivors hostage. An infuriated Waits angrily sent Sinclair a message, telling him that, "When I find a way to kill this thing, I hope to hell it found you first."

The betrayal[]

"This is Sinclair. You guys took too long down there - I had to power down this facility and take the last transit. We can't afford to keep the sanctuary wide open. All it'll take is one creature to get in - and all the supplies and weapons we've taken will come to jack shit. Me and mine are gonna sit this out till the rescue comes. I'm sorry...I'm sorry, but when you started chasing after a ship that'll never come, you broke with the plan. Sinclair out."
Jake (from Alien: Isolation)

On the 11th of December, Sinclair and his team learned that the USCSS Torrens was able to pick up survivors from Sevastopol. While several members of the team embraced the idea escaping from Sevastopol on the Torrens, Sinclair was not so sure about the chances of actually being rescued, and so waited at the Sevastopol tram station while several members of the team tried to contact the ship. After the group took too long in the Seegson Comms area, Sinclair decided to ditch them and headed back to the Habitation Tower, also shutting down the tram system to prevent them from following him - he later transmitted a sincere apology to the group, but explained that "as soon as you started chasing after a ship that'll never come, you broke with the plan."

"Last will and testament of some fuck you don't give a shit about. We couldn't keep them out. My wife is dead. My children have been taken. I tried, but I couldn't stop them. They broke through our defenses. There's...There's so much blood on my hands. This is for the rescue party, for Seegson or...I don't know...Whoever has to clean up this mess. We held out in here as long as we could. You didn't come fast enough. You fucked it. Just send in the Marines or blow this place up. Take these creatures back to hell."
Jake (from Alien: Isolation)

Sinclair and his team were later ambushed by a pack of Xenomorphs that managed to break into the habitation tower. Despite the team's firepower, they were no match for the creatures which tore through the team in minutes. In the chaos, Sinclair's wife was killed by the Xenomorphs, and his children were abducted by the creatures and taken to the Hive.

Although Sinclair himself managed to escape being captured or killed by the creatures, he did not escape unscathed - a Xenomorph had mortally wounded him and left him for dead. The dying Sinclair recorded his "last will and testament of some fuck you don't give a shit about" and talked about how the Xenomorphs had attacked and killed all of his comrades and that the rescue party "didn't come fast enough". He urges the individual who is listening to his message to "bring in the Marines or blow this place up" and to "take these creatures back to Hell."

Personality and traits[]

Sinclair was incredibly brutish and selfish in his methods of survival; he and his men would loot and/or kill any other survivors on the station. He was also incredibly wary about the number of people in his group and did not allow any other survivors to join, with one of his audio logs stating that "if we're going to get through this alive, there's no room for pity."

He was also prone to betraying others as he betrayed a few members of his group after they left the habitation tower in order to seek out rescue from the USCSS Torrens by shutting them out.

However, his final audio log "Blood on my Hands" reveals that he considered himself responsible for the infestation and was extremely guilty for allowing it to happen, as he was the one who allowed the crew of the Anesidora on board Sevastopol. Sinclair also cared deeply for his wife and children. His failure to protect them during the ambush undoubtedly contributed to his guilt.

  • Sinclair signs his penultimate archive log with the name Jake, yet his ID tag, found nearby, gives his first initial as "F". The novelization of Alien: Isolation, meanwhile, gives his name as Jefferson Sinclair.
  • The image used to represent Sinclair is that of Gary Napper, the lead designer on Alien: Isolation. A lot of the team's faces were used in the game as crew including some friends and family members of the development team.
  • Excluding the Nostromo logs and Mike Tanaka's Easter egg audio log (which involves backtracking), Sinclair's final audio log is also the last one that the player can find in the game. The log is titled "Blood on my Hands."
