POL–6362.04, later dubbed Jacob–Tellis, was an aquatic planet located in the Three World Empire POL-6362 System in the Frontier's Weyland Isles Sector. Originally the site of a Weyland Corp colony, Jacob–Tellis was later used by Lasalle Bionational and the Weyland-Yutani Corporation for research.
History[]
POL–6362.04 orbited the star POL-6362 in the POL-6362 System, which was located in a Three World Empire–controlled area of the Frontier's Weyland Isles Sector. POL–6362.04 was settled by Weyland Corp in 2071 and renamed Jacob–Tellis after the expedition responsible for doing so. However, the planet was abandoned in the 2090s after the collapse of Weyland Corp. While the original colony was discarded, the 3WE later leased Jacob–Tellis itself to Lasalle Bionational and the Weyland-Yutani Corporation for the purpose of studying the planet's extensive range of water–dwelling fauna. Several such efforts were undertaken yearly, and were still ongoing as of 2186.[1]
Flora and fauna[]
Jacob–Tellis hosted a wide variety of aquatic lifeforms, from microscopic protozoa to arthropods.[1]
Climate and terrain[]
The atmosphere on Jacob–Tellis was laden with poisonous gases and dangerous aerosols, necessitating the use of rebreathers. Temperatures averaged at 28°C. Landmasses on Jacob–Tellis consisted of volcanic islands, which were set amid green seas.[1]
Economy[]
The chief assets offered by Jacob–Tellis included microfauna and research.[1]
Population[]
Scientific expeditions rotated in and out of Jacob–Tellis generally numbered anywhere from six to forty–eight members. Those on such expeditions were either explorers or scientists.[1]
Points of interest[]
A single colony, set up on Jacob–Tellis by Weyland Corp before its collapse, was located on an equatorial chain of islands. The deserted settlement was plastered in volcanic ash.[1]
