Jīn Huā Deng was a communications technician working at the Jùtóu Combine's Svarog Mine on the Union of Progressive Peoples planet Shānmén.

Biography[]

Jīn Huā was a member of the Knot consortium and the adopted daughter of group founder Toru McLintock-Riley.

Jīn Huā had been a high-powered executive in Australia before the Great Rebellion against the Three World Empire, [1] when the 3WE had enforced restrictions on trade and resources in Australia[2]. She was chief financial officer for one of Australia’s biggest tech companies, lived in a high-rise overlooking Sydney Harbor and wore designer clothes. [3]

Jīn Huā’s Chinese father grew up with one of Toru’s nieces in Melbourne. The Knot adopted her after the death of her family during the Food Wars, before the attack on Canberra, when things became a nightmare in Australia. Jīn Huā took that kindness and passed it on to the two children she had adopted. After the Canberra blast, she’d reached out to refugee services and adopted two little orphaned children, Bái Yún Lee and Dà Shī Voo.[4]

Events on Shānmén[]

While sheltering in Shaft One of the Svarog Mine after a Juggernaut-class vessel attacked the planet, Jīn Huā Deng discovered a radio signal being broadcast from the alien ruins below the mine. The frequency was an incredibly low infrasound, below the level humans could make out. When the Engineer ship arrived, it seemed to reply to the signal from the alien ruins.[5]

Jīn Huā died in an attack by mutated xenomorphs in the tunnels of the alien ruins beneath the Svarog mine.[6]
