The Ilyasov EVI-86X Zvezda Plasma Rifle was developed in 2186 by the Union of Progressive Peoples engineer Kazimir Ilyasov at Romashka Outpost on the mining planet Shānmén. Originally conceived on the Hyperdyne Systems orbital station Seneca, the EVI-86X project was moved to Romashka after a suspected security breach. Still in its prototype phase, the rifle was ineffective against armor, and its powerpack was unstable and prone to explosion.[1] The weapon would leave the prototype stage a year later as the EVI-87 Zvezda Plasma Rifle.[2]
