The humped gish was a creature native to Ataegina, somewhat similar to an Earth toad. It was a predator of the vindeedee and could be identified by its deep croak that humans mimicked to signal one another in hopes of evading Xenomorph detection. Ataeginans also carried gish feet as a symbol of luck to ward away evil spirits.
