Gene Zindail was a colonist on the world of Rim in the 2170s. He was good friends with Russ and his wife Sarah. In 2179, Gene, Russ, Sarah and the couple's two children were out surveying the planet when they came across a strange crash site. Gene, along with Sarah and Russ went to check out the crash and investigated the strange body in the ship. Russ made a discovery of egg-like objects in a portion of the ship and leaned over one of them. Some time later Gene and Sarah dragged Russ out of the crash site with a strange creature attached to his face. Gene later perished in the ensuing Xenomorph infestation that stemmed from his and his friends' discovery.
