The Frontier Revolver was a high caliber revolver manufactured by Hyperdyne Corporation and used by the Union of Progressive Peoples, the United States Colonial Marine Corps, and the Office of the Colonial Marshals during the 22nd century. It was the first of Hyperdyne's renowned "3D Printed" weapons.
Development[]
Throughout the 2150s and '60s, the Union of Progressive Peoples supported anti–corporate rebellions on Three World Empire and United Americas worlds, and pursued opportunistic military expeditions. However, after tlconflicts such as the Hyades Revolts and the Tientsin Campaign, the UPP found itself in possession of numerous high–powered automatic military weapons that were useful on the battlefield but ill–placed during peacetime; the UPP needed smaller sidearms for colonists, surveyors, and police forces in the Outer Rim Territories and the Core Systems.[1]
To put a halt to further political embarrassment resulting from citizens being forced to buy "corporatist" handguns on the black market, the State Council tasked Hyperdyne Corporation, now a "state enterprise" after its support during the Hyades Revolts, with developing a sidearm that could satisfy the civilian market. Hyperdyne's best designers came up with the Frontier Revolver, a weapon that could be manufactured using blueprints transmitted over FTL hyperstate and using local maintenance–part fabricators with common industrial polymers rather than expensive lab–designed metamaterials. As a result, the Frontier Revolver was the first of Hyperdyne's proprietary "3D printed" designs.[1]

The Frontier Revolver was a simple, reliable, practically unjammable and powerful weapon that even untrained individuals such as explorers and miners could use effectively. The Revolver's eventual success enabled Hyperdyne to buy back its independence from the Weyland-Yutani Corporation.[1]
Notable users[]
Originally released in 2171 for UPP colonial militias, law enforcement agencies, and the civilian market, the Frontier Revolver also saw service with the Union of Progressive People's Army, the United States Colonial Marine Corps, and the Office of the Colonial Marshals.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The Frontier Revolver appears in Aliens: Fireteam Elite as part of the Season 2 update and can be purchased from Staff Sergeant Han-jae Park for 9600 Requisition Points. It can be used by Technician, Doc and Phalanx classes.[1]
