Fleet[2] was a member of Jernigan's salvage team, which recovered the shuttle Narcissus in 2179. Their ship, GM28223[3], happened upon the shuttle after it had been drifting through space for 57 years following the incident aboard the USCSS Nostromo. In doing so, they rescued Ellen Ripley and undoubtedly saved her life.

- Fleet is never named in Aliens or its novelization; his name was not revealed until the novel Alien: River of Pain.[2]
- In fact, as Fleet is a minor non-speaking role in Aliens, the extra who played him has never been identified. However, in the audio drama adaptation of Alien: River of Pain he is voiced by actor James Goode.
- The deep-salvage team's outfits and equipment were originally created for the 1981 feature film Outland before being repurposed for Aliens.
