Matzke was a member of the United States Colonial Marine Corps. He was part of a search and rescue mission sent to LV-426 aboard the USS Sephora in 2179 to investigate the disappearance of the USS Sulaco and its crew 17 weeks earlier. He was M.I.A. on LV-426.

Biography[]

Matzke was one of the Marines who survived the destruction of the Sephora and Sulaco, making it safely to LV-426. During the 118th Battalion's assault against the Weyland-Yutani PMCs, he was fighting against the PMCs guarding the second Anti-Air Gun alongside Roberts and Wells.

Corporal Winter, Corporal Hicks and Private O'Neal soon arrived to assist to three Marines and together they eliminated the PMCs and destroyed the second Anti-Air Gun. Soon after, Matzke and his squad were M.I.A.

Equipment[]

Matzke was outfitted with standard-issue M3 Pattern Personal Armor for protection; his armor was fitted with a TNR Shoulder Lamp attachment for illumination. He also had an M10 Pattern Ballistic Helmet, which he had strapped an Ace of Spades and Joker playing cards onto the side. He had customized his armor vest with a black knight chess piece on the chest plate and a red cross on the back with the words "GROPO" above it and "APC 404B" to the right of it. His armor also had two shotgun shells strapped to the right of the vest and a Combat Knife strapped to the left of the vest. Matzke had several grenades and pouches strapped to his waist around his belt. He also had several grenades strapped to the right side of his right leg armor. Matzke carried an M41A Pulse Rifle MK2 and an M4A3 Service Pistol.

Trivia[]

  • Matzke is unique in that he is the only Marine to have customized the back of his armor.
  • The red cross on the back of his armor could indicate that he was a Hospital Corpsman.
