The F44AA Pulse Rifle was an electronic pulse–action assault rifle. Manufactured by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, the rifle was equipped with an aiming assist computer and safety. As of 2142, the F44AA was used by the United States Colonial Marine Corps, and Weyland–Yutani security officers aboard the research station Renaissance. Scavengers Rain Carradine, Tyler Harrison and the synthetic Andy also made use of the rifle during a Xenomorph outbreak on the Renaissance.

Overview

The F44AA Pulse Rifle was a lightweight assault rifle featuring a rotating breech and electronic pulse action. It was also designed with the ability to utilize the stock under the arm of the shooter, giving it a high rate of accuracy. The F44A's magazine held a total of 450 rounds and toted a high rate of fire, making it effective against a Xenomorph. The weapon had a side–mounted ammunition counter, with remaining ammunition represented by bars. The F44AA also toted an automatic aiming assist feature, which enabled the user to hit targets with extreme accuracy. However, the system was prone to malfunction, and was redeveloped for the M56 Smartgun.
