The European Union, often referred to as the EU, was a European political organization comprising several countries and a member of the United Nations Interstellar Corps. During the formation of superpowers such as the United Americas, Three World Empire, and the Union of Progressive Peoples, the EU was used as a model. In 2108, the EU was riven by defections to the 3WE and collapsed when member states Germany and Spain joined Russia in forming the UPP.

Alien: The Weyland-Yutani Report states that the EU was one of the political entities instrumental in the formation of the United Systems in 2202; however, the Colonial Marines Operations Manual dates the dissolution of the EU to 2108. This article assumes that the latter publication is correct.
