The Engineering Platform, commonly referred to as the engineering decks, was the main maintenance and storage area on Sevastopol Station. Structurally, the platform constituted the "base" of the station, joining the three main towers together. Among other systems, it contained the vast reactor core that powered Sevastopol, as well as the cooling systems for the station's APOLLO core. Chief and his team of engineers primarily worked out of the workshops located on the engineering decks.
During the Xenomorph outbreak that overran Sevastopol in 2137, the creatures constructed their Hive in the reactor maintenance area on the engineering decks.
The Engineering Platform was navigated by Amanda Ripley during her efforts to initiate a reactor purge and destroy the Xenomorph hive below it. Ripley succeeded in doing so; however, several Xenomorphs escaped the blast.
