Edmund C. Giff was a human scientist. Giff pioneered the "Giffy Popped" method of terraforming, by which worlds were intentionally devastated so as to access valuable resources quickly. The Independent Core System Colonies planet Volcus was rumoured to have been subject to the Giffy Popped process by way of a moon impact.
