An ECO2 All–World Systems Survival Suit worn by Tennessee Faris
The ECO2 All–World Systems Survival Suit was a model of space suit used for extravehicular activity. The successor to the original ECO All-World Systems Survival Suit, the ECO2 was used aboard the colony ship USCSS Covenant in 2104.
Overview[]
The ECO2 All–World Systems Survival Suit was an upgrade of the original ECO All-World Systems Survival Suit. Unlike its predecessor, which featured a metallic crimson finish, the ECO2 was construction yellow in color. As with the original model, the ECO2 was equipped with rotary joints and self–actuating fingers and, despite its cumbersome operation and extreme weight, fully protected its wearer from the hazards of space. The suit's rounded shapes meant the wearer could work near the ship, or any other solid object, without fear of dislodging or snapping off something critical.[1] The ECO2 toted a set of thrusters that obviated the need for tethers during zero–g work and a magnetic boot system to help the user remain in a fixed position. The suit's helmet featured a comprehensive heads–up display, though its communications array was unshielded and thus could pick up rogue transmissions, a flaw it shared with the initial version. It also had a cutting laser on the right index finger.
History[]
After the Weyland-Yutani Corporation colony ship USCSS Covenant was damaged by a stellar event in 2104, crewmembers Tennessee Faris and Ankor used ECO2 suits to effect repairs on the vessel's solar sails. While doing so, Tennessee's helmet detected a mysterious transmission originating from a nearby planet. ECO2 suits were also used aboard the plasma trawling vessel USCSS Cetorhina and the mining station Erebos.
