- "The people of the village think the Djinn protects them, that they are safe...But they are not. Where was the Djinn when the Jihadi killed the villagers who cooperated with the Americans? Where was the Djinn when my parents were murdered? Whatever kills the Jihadi does not protect the village. It kills because it wants to."
- ―Atal regarding the Djinn (from Predator: Hunters II)
The "Djinn", as regarded by the locals, was a lone Yautja who resided himself deep within Eastern Afghanistan.
He would partake in hunts in the region, be it against Jihadi soldiers or US personnel. Due to his slaughtering of the Jihadis, the local villagers deemed him a guardian and savior, though a young boy, Atal, had deduced that he was actually indifferent to what side he was killing. He would subsequently become the target of Jaya Soames and her team of hunters, with mercenary Tyler Swain realising that he was the same Predator who had killed his squad-mates in a previous skirmish.
The Djinn would ultimately perish after Swain sacrificed himself by luring the Predator into a minefield, killing the both of them.
Biography[]
Ambushing Swain's squad[]
Tyler's initial encounter with the Djinn.
At some point, a lone Yautja had arrived on Earth and resided itself in Afghanistan. During a Taliban raid on a US supply run, the Predator intervened and indiscriminately began killing all men it encountered. Soldier Tyler Swain was the sole survivor. Though he attested that a mortar blast had knocked him unconscious, he had in fact retreated and hid from the creature as it slaughtered his comrades.
Hunt in Afghanistan[]
The Djinn massacres the Black Ops team.
The Predator would go on to establish a base of operations deep within the foothills of the Hindu Kush in Eastern Afghanistan. There, he would go on to hunt the Jihadi extremists in the area, inadvertently saving the nearby local villagers from their terror. These actions would go on to cause the locals to believe a Djinn was watching over and protecting them.
The Djinn would earn the attention of Jaya Soames and her team of Hunters after she accessed footage of a suspicious slaughtering of a group of Jihadis, who were preparing to execute a member of the CIA. A US Black Ops squad would also be deployed in the area with the goal of killing the creature and harvesting its technology. However, they too were no match for the Djinn and were swiftly massacred.
Final battle and Death[]
- "Texas style."
- ―The Djinn before lunging towards Tyler Swain (from Predator: Hunters II)
Eventually the Hunters arrived in Afghanistan, and, with the help of a young Afghan boy, Atal, were able to locate the creature's base. Inside, they found the Predator's ship and a mass of junk taken from previous skirmishes. Tyler subsequently discovered a cap of one of his fallen comrades, realising that this was the same Predator that murdered his men. The group set charges to the cave, but before they were able to detonate, they were ambushed by the Djinn, bringing the group into a brutal firefight with its Plasmacaster.
Eventually, Swain managed to lure the hunter into an active minefield and goaded the creature into a melee by drawing a knife. The Djinn obliged and lunged towards Swain. Inches away from him, the Predator stepped on a mine, obliterating both him and Swain in the process.
