Derrick Russell[1] was a colonist and chief terraformist living at Hadley's Hope on Acheron. He replaced Greg Hansard,[2] overseeing terraforming efforts on Acheron as the colony continued to grow. He was caught up in the Xenomorph infestation that overran the colony in 2179.
Russell was one of several colonists who fled Hadley's Hope aboard the Onager. They subsequently crash-landed on LV-223, only to discover several Xenomorphs had stowed away aboard the vessel with them.

- Russell is one of three characters to appear in both the comic Aliens: Fire and Stone and the novel Alien: River of Pain, along with Nolan Cale and Genevieve Dione.
