"It looks like damage." |
Dallas Howard was a resident of Gunnison, Colorado. In 2004, became involved in the Xenomorph outbreak that ultimately led to the destruction of the town. Dallas had only just returned to Gunnison shortly before the outbreak started, having been released from prison where he served a sentence for burglary.
Dallas was one of four people known to have survived the Gunnison incident, along with Kelly O'Brien, Molly O'Brien and his brother Ricky.
Biography[]
Return from Prison[]
When Dallas returned to Gunnison after having served his time in prison for burglary, he was greeted by Sheriff Morales, who is obviously in good terms with him and also pointed out to him, that his brother Ricky had problems. When Ricky came home to find Dallas back from his time in prison, he told him about Dale having attacked him and that his car keys are lost in the sewer. He stopped Ricky, when he thought about getting revenge and offered to help Ricky to get his keys back. Ricky consented but only after thoroughly arguing. In the sewers they managed to find the keys, but not after Ricky saw a newborn Alien chestburster on the other side of the sewer stream. They then heard a Xenomorph hissing at the end of the tunnel and fled. Dallas was also determined to find honest work in town while he eats in a restaurant.
The Xenomorph Outbreak[]
When the Xenomorphs attacked, Dallas and Morales took the teenagers along with Darcy to a radio store where they found a few more refugees; two clerk owners. Later they armed themselves with weapons from the slaughtered National Guard unit. He sided with Kelly, when she offered an alternative escape plan and led her, her daughter Molly, Ricky, Jesse and Drew, while Morales led Darcy and several others to the army's promised evacuation zone.
After they got through the hospital, Jesse and Drew having been killed and Ricky having been wounded by the Predalien, Dallas used the Predator's plasma pistol after it got knocked down an elevator shaft and used it as his own weapon. The group travelled to the helicopter on the rooftop's building, but was attacked by a number of Xenomorphs. Escape seemed almost impossible, until Dallas managed to blow a hole through the wall with the pistol, allowing them to leave safely.
When the group finally makes it to the helicopter, Dallas stays behind to buy them time. Using the pistol, he kills several Xenomorphs and is almost overpowered. Just when the helicopter is about to take off, Wolf finds him and attempts to take the pistol back. The Predator is then attacked by the Predalien, allowing Dallas to board the copter.
They managed to fly away, but the shockwave from the nuclear explosion caused turbulence, which forced them to crash.
Aftermath[]
Dallas and the others survived the crash and began leaving the wreckage only to encounter a group of camouflaged troops surrounding them. Dallas angrily shouted at them about a tactical nuclear strike on the town, which they replied that they were only following orders. Dallas gave them the plasma gun in return for medical help for his brother Ricky.
Personality and Traits[]
Howard was very straight forward about things and very protective of his brother, though he has a criminal past, as he served time in prison and was only recently released. He served time for burglary, maybe he also committed robbery or armed robbery due to his ability to handle fire arms. He is also seen as a man who can think straight even in a very dangerous situation, which made him the unofficial leader of the group.
Equipment[]
Dallas first wielded what appeared to be a Winchester Model 1200 shotgun at the gun shop. When at the hospital, Dallas used an M4A1. Later, Dallas managed to steal Wolf's Plasma Pistol, which he used until it was taken by special forces.
Trivia[]
- Dallas' first name is likely a reference to Captain Dallas from Alien.
- When Dallas and the others are trying to get to the helicopter, he says "Get to the chopper." which is Dutch's famous line from Predator.
