DC Comics/Dark Horse Comics: Aliens is a trade paperback comic book published by DC Comics on May 12, 2016. It collects together some — but not all — of the crossover comics that feature various popular DC Comics characters facing off against the dreaded Xenomorphs. The book was edited by Jeb Woodard, while the cover art was a modified version of the cover from Batman/Aliens II #2 by Staz Johnson and James Hodgkins.

Publisher's Summary[]

The stories that brought the dreaded Aliens into the DC Universe are collected in this new title! First, Batman follows the trail from his home turf to the Amazon jungle to discover the horror of the Aliens - but how can even the Dark Knight stop them? Then, an Alien is discovered in a Gotham City construction site - and it's going to wreak havoc on Arkham Asylum! Plus, the 1998 tale that pitted the WildC.A.T.s against the might of the Aliens is back. Can even the WildC.A.T.s survive a battle with the Aliens - when StormWatch has already fallen?

Behind the Scenes[]

The trade paperback is far from a definitive collection of all of the crossover stories that have introduced the Xenomorphs into the world of DC comic book characters, as might be inferred from its title. Most notably, missing from the collection are the two Superman crossovers to which Superman and Batman vs. Aliens and Predator is partly a sequel, Superman vs. Aliens and Superman vs. Aliens II: God War. Also missing is the story Green Lantern versus Aliens. However, the aforementioned Superman stories were later collected in the Dark Horse Comics/DC Comics: Superman trade paperback, while the Green Lantern crossover will be collected in the Dark Horse Comics/DC Comics: Justice League Volume 2 trade paperback.

The inclusion of the WildC.A.T.s/Aliens story in the collection is somewhat strange — not only does it have absolutely no connection to any of the other stories in the trade paperback, it was not even originally published by DC Comics. It was in fact produced by Dark Horse Comics and WildStorm, before the latter was bought out and closed down by DC. As such, DC and its staff had nothing whatsoever to do with its creation, although the company does now own the publishing rights to it.
