- "By God, Soames, sometimes I think you'll go native on us and spend the rest of your days praying to some yellow-eyed monkey god idol in one of their temples!"
- ―Cromer to Edward Soames (from Predator: Nemesis)
Cromer was a soldier of the British Empire stationed in Bengal alongside Edward Soames, who was ambushed and killed by a Yautja, dubbed a Rakshasa.
Biography[]
During his service in Bengal, Cromer's garrison was approached by the local Wallah of a small village. Having Soames translate, they were informed that a tiger had been terrorizing them and had already killed two of their people. They were requested that they eliminate the threat. The local Brahmin went on to warn them that a tiger was not the culprit, but a man-eating demon, a "Rakshasa". However, Cromer was less than convinced and believed it to be mere Indian superstition.

Cromer is blasted from behind by the Rakshasa's Plasmacsaster.
As he and his men entered the jungles to hunt down the local's killer with two Indian guides, they encountered two strung-up corpses which terrified the guides, sending them fleeing. An enraged Cromer demanded that they return, only to suddenly implode from behind from the blast of a Plasmacaster. The group were suddenly ambushed by the 'Rakshasa' himself, a Yautja, which swiftly slaughtered the squad with ease, leaving only Soames as the sole survivor.
Personality and traits[]
Cromer was a brash man with a short temper. Unlike his comrade Soames, who held a respect and understanding for the Indian race and their culture, Cromer held a bigoted and supercilious perspective, believing the British occupants to be racially superior. As such, these traits led Soames to admit that he "never particularly cared for" Cromer.
