The Colonial Marines Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Service (CMISRS) was a branch of the United America's Colonial Marines that provided oversight, to eliminate corporate influence on the Colonial Marines.
History[]
The Colonial Marines Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Service formed after the Frontier War, with the passage of the Colonial Protection Act. The CMISRS provided oversight, to eliminate corporate influence on the Colonial Marines. Over time, their mandate expanded to most intelligence tasks, from cyber-warfare backdoors, to interstellar "Keyhole" probes. Tactically, the CMISRS supervise Marine sniper and recon teams. Front-line Marines often mistrust CMISRS' motivation. This state of affairs is not helped by the fact that CMISRS staff officers have the authority to usurp command of field units in extreme circumstances.
