"The truth of my message will shine like a beacon. The others are pretenders. I preach the gospel of the true Messiah!"
Salvaje (from Aliens: Outbreak)

The Church of Immaculate Incubation was an evangelistic Xenomorph cult. Its followers sought to become blessed hosts for the creatures and were directly responsible for the Xenomorph infestation on Earth.

History[]

Conception[]

Founded and led by a former Bionational employee and extremist named Salvaje,[1] the Church of Immaculate Incubation was one of many Xenomorph cults that would seek to become hosts for the creatures and cause devastation to the worlds they would inhabit. The Church worshiped a Xenomorph that they considered to be the "True Messiah," and believed being an Alien host was an event of transcendence and divine blessing.

When they were not being blocked by Weyland-Yutani for reading from banned material,[2] their sermons were broadcasted through the network when they could afford to, via eye-boxes on channel 2393. Salvaje used this medium to amass thousands of followers who branded themselves with tattoos of a Xenomorph Drone. In 2192, the Church implicitly orchestrated the raid of a Bionational facility in Lima containing a Queen and its hive. While most of the cultists were killed during the raid, including Salvaje, a number of impregnated followers managed to escape, thus triggering a global Xenomorph infestation.

Rumor control[]

While this cult does have its roots in a revived remnant of Earthsavers,[2] at first they were considered harmless with very few members and nothing to back up their claims. The release and subsequent ban of Robert Morse's book Space Beast in 2183 led followers to believe that the Dragon depicted in the book to have messianic significance to the imminent apocalypse and considered it to be the "True Messiah".[1]

The Church took advantage of the Frontier War to recruit demoralized colonists,[3] by distributing illegal copies of Space Beast throughout the colonies and started recruit professional dreamers to share the dreams of their prophets.[1] However, some members of the Church, like Jannes Ruedi Fields, grew even more radicalized and splinter from the Church of Immaculate Incubation to create an extremist group called Children of the Two Divines.[4]

In August 2185, a joint task force of Colonial Marshals and Colonial Marines, named Operation: Babylon Oratory, is launched against them to eliminate their presence from the Cocytus Sector.[5]
