"Some members of the Church grew more and more radicalized until they formed an extremist splinter group willing to use terror to spread their word—the Children of the Two Divines."
Alien: The Roleplaying GameColonial Marines Operations Manual

The Children of the Two Divines was an extremist terrorist Xenomorph cult, born from the Church of Immaculate Incubation.[2]

Overview[]

The Children of the Two Divines worshiped Xenomorphs (called Destroying Angels) and Engineers (called Dark Gods or Homo Genitor). The Grand Seer's goal is to trigger the apocalypse by unleashing Destroying Angels all over the galaxy,[3] by searching any egg cache or hoping that Deep Void, United Americas, Union of Progressive Peoples or Weyland-Yutani will unleash Xenomorphs on their own.[1] When Mother Mishka took control alongside Maitland, they had a different vision preferring to liberate any Xenomorphs or Engineers from captivity and will do everything to reach their gods, the Engineers and creating a new world alongside them, [3] by finding Engineer artifacts or hieroglyphs, translating and deciphering them to be closer to the Engineers. [4]

In layman's terms, the hieroglyphs and artifacts contain both genetic codes and instructions for mastering how to genetically manipulate the black goo mutagenic chemicals as one sees fit. In addition, when filtered through the dreams of a Xenomorph Queen these hieroglyphs and artifact inscriptions reveal not only the genetic codes and instructions for manipulating the black goo but also the coordinates to a world undiscovered by humanity. Grand Mother Mishka and Grand Father Maitland's ultimate endgame was not only that of learning as much about their deities as possible. but also the far more gradiose ambition of making travel to the world detailed in the hieroglyphs and, using the genetic codes and instructions also within the hieroglyphs in conjunction with a supply of stockpiled Steatite Ampules containing Chemical AO-3959X.91-15 to "build a new world" in order to be closer to their Dark Gods (the Engineers) and their Destroying Angels (the Xenomorphs).

History[]

Established in Grandhi Domes on Grandhi Moon, it was created by Grand Seer Jannes Ruedi Fields, thinking the Church of Immaculate Incubation was too soft, he created the Children of the Two Divines to fulfill the prophecy of Duncan Fields. While Salvaje predicted that the apocalypse brought by their "Messiah" was coming, the Grand Seer thought that his duty was to trigger it. Like the Church of Immaculate Incubation, they adhere at Robert Morse's book Space Beast but they also embraced works of scientists as their supplemental doctrine such as Charlie Holloway, Elizabeth Shaw or Lucien Keitel. They thinks that the Engineers mentionned by Holloway and Shaw created mankind and found us lacking—and have sent Keitel’s Destroying Angels to judge us.[5]

Jannes Ruedi claimed the responsibility for the Border Bombings, by summoning the Gods to shower his wrath on those worlds. But these claims were proven false after some investigations from the Colonial Marshals and the FBI.[1] Passing as a human, the android Mishka seduced Ruedi and become his right hand planning to remove him from power with Maitland.[4]

Recently, the Children took interest in Arcturus, connections between the Arcturians’ Star Teachers and Dr. Charles Holloway’s Engineer thesis. Believing there to be some form of equation inscribed in the ancient Arcturian art, they are scouting the Guardian Belt for clues to the location of an Engineer temple, vessel, or outpost [1] and ended by discovering a hidden ancient Engineer temple with hieroglyphics, containing valuable information for their quest on Arcturus.[6] They launched an attack, led by Jannes Ruedi himself and Mother Mishka, on Arcturus' Grand Kivas,[7], they first dropped with their ship, the SS Penitent Man, a drum of Quinitricetyline on the Trading Outpost's USCMC station killing 27 Marines, killed over 240 Arcturians and human in the cultural center, secured the Grand Kivas' surroundings by flooding the area with CN-20 Nerve Gas, landed at the Grand Kivas, brought a nuke with them and took three dozen of hostages[8] to cover their operation and secured a xenoarchaeologist among the hostages to help them recovering Engineer genetic secrets.[7] However unbeknownst to the Children the xenoarchaeologist, Tejal Ahluwalia, was working for Deep Void charge to catalog everything they unearth,[8], after founding the Engineer Temple they discovered six standing Sarcophagi with four alive Engineers inside. Jannes connected a Neuro Visor, that Mishka stole from Project Morana, on the sarcophagi to read one of the Engineer's mind and read his dream but suffered a terrible feedback leaving him in a poor mental state. Mishka led the USS Tamb'Itam Marines to the nuke activated by one of the Firstborns and escaped by leaping in the underground river and escape. Ruedi was then captured by the Marines allowing Mishka to take control of the cult.[9]

Mishka's android partner Maitland, was originally a Geholgod Institute archivist assigned to Deep Void Xenoarcheologists Dr. Chawla and Liu on Pandora. However when they tried to escape with their datas on Engineer and the institute copy of David's Transmissions, Maitland disapproved their action as he thinks that all those datas should be studied and revered, [10] and killed them both. After that he memorized and then destroyed every informations from Shaw-Holloway and Keitel's papers, studied and deleted the severly damaged David Transmission and replace everything with inaccurate forgeries. [11] After downloading all their datas, he carelessly contacted Mishka and offered her the xenospecialists’ data. However as Mishka was still under UPP surveillance their transmission was intercepted, forcing the Ministry of Space Security to sent a taskforce to retrieve the android and its datas.[10] It is unknown if Maitland was captured by Deep Void or managed to escape Pandora, if he is captured he will be taken to Deep Void's safehouse on Darwin Island.

After learning that an Alien Queen is "prisoner", in an old decommissioned Weyland-Yutani network station named Talos under the control of the MSS, to use her dream to broadcast horrific subliminal signals across the border, Mother Mishka lauched an operation to freed the Queen to unleash her on the Frontier.[12] She personally led a small taskforce composed of a dozen fanatics aboard the SS Magdalene, they boarded the station with a "dirty dock" will try to break out the Queen. They will be taken in crossing fire between the Marines and the Space Operating Forces. After the Queen freed, Mishka likely managed to escape the station by unknown means. If she is captured, she will be taken to Deep Void's safehouse on Darwin Island.[12]

On Grandhi Moon, believing the Sonderdatch Mine to be a sacred Engineer burial ground, the Children infiltrated the mine working force to find proof that their dark gods once utilized the site. However after some workers accidentally revealed a pressure pocket full of black death, many “Newborn” followers already present at the site of the breakthrough and others coming from Grandhi Domes waited to be baptized in the black goo and becoming Angels. [13] A group of four Children (a Queen and three Newborns) managed reached the mine sublevels where the accident occured and being to perform a ceremony to baptize the Newborns, they eventually become Anathemas.[14] Most of Children that managed to reached the sublevels will either get baptized or will voluntarily plunge into the black goo.[15] The rest of the Children stationned at Grandhi Domes, were most likely killed and transformed when the Border Bombers destroyed the colony.[16]

The Children's ultimate known move was to storm Deep Void's safehouse on Pandora's Darwin Island in order to retrieve their Engineer musical compositions and artifacts, and complete the starmap started to reach their dark gods and create their new world. The team is composed of six Firstborns, if Mishka and Maitland weren't captured or killed they will lead the strike team. If they were captured the Firstborns will also try to rescue their leaders. [17] They will try to infiltrate the Rig to steal datas disks, Engineer artifacts and will ultimately try to steal General Vaughn's ship, the Black Bart, and escape with it.[18] It is unknown if they managed to reach their goals as after these events, the Childrens totally disappeared, either by gone into hiding or in deep space. [19]

Organization[]

Referring to the Destroying Angels by asexual means, the Jannes Ruedi required all male members (except him) to be neutered as a show of faith while the female's fertility was celebrated. [5]

Leadership[]

The cult is lead by the all powerful Grand Seer, he is seconded by a top Queen, called Mother, that execute all his commands and only answers to him.[5]

Operational forces[]

Female Children leaders are called Queens and are in command of small terrorist groups called Hives. Children initiates are called Newborns while their Elite forces are called Firstborns. They are most of time equipped with old black market F903WE assault rifles[5], Rexim EVA pistols or combat knifes[20] and will never hesitate to use extreme methods to reach their goals like suicide attacks, kidnappings, bioterrorism, and mass murders.[5] They also have at least one M22A3 Jackson in their compound.[1]

Firstborns[]

The Firstborns are the elite forces of the Children and uttery loyal to the cause and will die for. These are trained combat veterans, carrying F903WE assault rifles, razor blades hidden in their shoes and an Armat 4 breaching charges strapped on their chest.[21]
