- "Planet Celeste is a reality Darryl. There's finally a heaven in the sky. Celeste is a paradise, literally a paradise"
- ―Ivy Derringer (from Aliens: Kidnapped)
Planet Celeste, formally named NYN67B, was an asteroid orbiting the star GJ832 in Independent Core System Colonies space in the Outer Veil's Sector 3847 some 16.16 light-years Coreward from Earth.[1]
History[]
Formerly known as NYN678, the terraformed asteroid was bought from the United States Colonial Marine Corps by the billionaire Ivy Derringer and her company Skank, and was transformed into a luxury resort.
A deadly contagion spread across the asteroid's domed colony, Planet Celeste, when media personality Darryl Zither brought in his chest a diseased chestburster that emerged in Ivy's ship, killing her in the process. It then escaped and killed several people before dying. However the creature left behind it a pink fluid trail that went airborne when it dried which forced Celeste's board to quarantine the planet when Ivy's earthbound ship crashed on the resort as a result of Ivy's security chief Chiggerman going mad. Eventually, the decision was made to nuke the resort to contain the disease.[2]
Flora and Fauna[]
The flora was composed of Earth-like grass, flowers and trees.[2]
Fauna[]
Except the imported bodyburster, no fauna was known of nor seen on the planet.[2]
Climate and terrain[]
Climate[]
The planet's climate seemed temperate and breathable due to terraformation.[2]
Terrain[]
The terrain was mainly terrestrial with some water plains.[2]
Economy[]
Key resources: Luxury shops, drugs, Spas, high quality cuisine, restaurants, various health/wellness services and genetically engineered sex workers.[2]
Points of interest[]
The asteroid's domed colony possessed many POIs, such as the control tower managing air control and security teams, the luxury resort composed of several themed suite, medical suites, a galleria housing several luxury shops, restaurants, an antique-theme leisure enclave with several baths called the Goddesseum, and a forest. Everything was destroyed when the asteroid was nuked.[2]
