The Alien and Predator toys are noncanon, but Ridley Scott[1] has said that any animal that an Alien comes from is going to have traits of that animal. This makes the toy aliens secondary canon unless it has appeared in a offical story, like the Bull, Gorilla, and Snake Alien.
