The Burster is a Xenomorph caste that was encountered by Colonial Marines from the USS Endeavor on LV-895. Bursters are similar to Boilers in that upon death, they will shower the immediate surroundings in acidic blood.
Characteristics[]
Physically, Bursters closely resemble Runners, though they possess a pale mesoskeleton and several acidic growths adorn their heads and upper limbs. These growths presumably assist the creature in showering acid blood everywhere when they die. Bursters also possess a raspier voice.
Unlike the similar Boilers, Bursters are not blind and will actively hunt down hostiles rather than wait to be disturbed. Bursters do not seem to be physically deteriorating like Boilers and are extremely agile, capable of running along walls like most other Xenomorphs.
