- "Stop...Screwin' around...You can't let those...bastards...Get to me. Don't want to...Go...Like that"."
- ―Boston (from Aliens: Colonial Marines)
Corporal[1]Boston was a member of the United States Colonial Marine Corps and the USS Melville's communication officer. He accompanied the undisciplined and insubordinate crew of the USS Melville, reputed to be the "worst", who were sent to convoy toxic waste to Alphatech's Waste Disposal Facility "SunGun".
He perished, alongside Carmen Vasquez, after being overrun by a Xenomorph horde during the final assault on an Alphatech deep space communication array.
Biography[]
Mission to SunGun and Bracken's World[]
- "I've transmitted on every frequency seventeen time and run diagnostics on everything but the toilets. Nobody's home."
- ―Boston trying to establish a comm link with the SunGun (from Aliens: Colonial Marines)
Boston was the USS Melville comm officer accompaning the highly undisciplined squad of Marines who were recently assigned the "lowest detail in the corps" - docking KL-7, an Alphatech 'sungun' (stellar incineration mass driver) toxic waste disposal facility, not only delivering refuse to the facility but also transporting Alphatech executive Beliveau and his security team to the station. Lietenant Joseph Henry was also recently assigned as Commanding Officer to the squad.
When arriving in the SunGun vicinity, he tried multiple times to reach to station but to no success. After first losing contact with Beliveau's men, who initially investigated the facility, the marines were sent in whilst Boston remained on comms. They subsequently encountered a Xenomorph infestation within the facility, and eventually retreated back to the Melville after purging the Xenos.
Upon arriving on the aquatic planet Bracken's World for reconnaissance, Boston left the ship alongside the others to reach the main colony, Sector 1. As a non-combatant, he did not take part in the defence of the colony from the aquatic Xenomorphs. He did, however, like all other marines, get a micro-explosives planted in his neck under the guise of a medical review, as ordered by Henry, who wanted to keep his men in line. After the Melville's destruction, he travelled alongside the others to Bracken's World moon, Joliet, where a FTL ship was stationed. He would ultimately stay in the dropship with fellow marine Maryland while the others gathered weapons from the Mining Facility.
En route to Alphatech research facility, Boston was forced to a restrain a delirious Rosemas, after he bludgeoned Vormitag to death in a Royal Jelly-induced psychosis. He intended to partake in a mutiny against Henry, who was becoming increasingly irritable and paranoid, alongside Forsythe, Chen and an unnamed marine. However, Liston foiled the plan by subduing them. During the marine's operation within the research station, Boston stayed onboard the assault ship and despised Henry even more after he chose to abandon Sergeant Nyland.
Death[]
- "Va...Vasquez. Ask you... do something... for me... want... want you to... got to kill me."
- ―Boston to Carmen Vasquez (from Aliens: Colonial Marines)
After arriving at their final destination, the Alphatech communication array, he was this time forced by Henry to take part in his assault. He was in charge of driving an LAV while Vasquez took charge of the turret. However during the assault, their LAV passed through an acid eaten floor, levelling the vehicle. Bloodied, Vasquez extracted a badly wounded Boston from the wreck, and he subsequently asked her to mercy-kill him, preventing him from being impregnated with a Chestburster. However, before Vasquez was able to make a decision, a large Alien horde swarmed the two, killing Vasquez and likely Boston as well.
Personality and Traits[]
Boston possessed a more calm personality at the opposite of the truculent Marine squad assigned to the Melville.
He was a non-combatant, but had some skills in driving military vehicles.
Trivia[]
- As the Melville communication officer, it is unknown why he descended to Bracken's World with the others. His presence on the ship might have saved the Melville as he could have corrected to ship trajectory whilst crewmember Beech was suffering from withdrawal.
