- "Uh-oh -- mom and dad are home."
"Sergeant Dyke and Lieutenant dick." - ―Carmen Vasquez and Beech referring to Nyland and Joseph Henry (from Aliens: Colonial Marines)
Private First Class[1] Beech was a member of the United States Colonial Marine Corps. He was part of the undisciplined and insubordinate crew of the USS Melville, reputed as the "worst", to convoy toxic waste to Alphatech's Waste Disposal Facility "SunGun". He perished following the destruction of the Melville over orbit of Bracken's World.
Biography[]
Beech was part of the highly undisciplined crew of the USS Melville, whom Lieutenant Joseph Henry was recently assigned to. Their mission was to convoy toxic waste to Alphatech's Waste Disposal Facility SunGun and to transport personnel from Alphatech to a deep space communication array for a year.
Mission in SunGun[]
- "C'mon give me your hand Berganza!"
- ―Beech trying to grab the panicked Berganza (from Aliens: Colonial Marines)
When arriving in the SunGun vicinity, Henry tried to contact the facility but received no response. Fearing a problem, Henry had Sgt Nyland wake the marines up from hypersleep. However as his men were disinclined and refused to gear up, Henry was forced to physically discipline them, with Beech specifically receiving a black-eye. Once back in line, they boarded the SunGun and explored the interior, eventually discovering that they were dealing with a Xenomorph infestation. He was assigned with the others to secure the floor while Henry swept the operation centre. After failing to grab a panicking Berganza following a Xenomorph assault, Beech managed with the rest of the group to isolate themselves in the Zero-G well, waiting with the survivors until Henry, alongside Chen, Rake and survivor Dinkel, purged the Tox-bay hatch, expelling all Xenos into space. The group subsequently made a safe retreat to the Melville. In the aftermath, the marines all congratulated their own survival, though Nyland was outraged by their naivety and lectured them before leaving.
Maintenance Duty[]
- "Hey, Beech ! There's some petroleum jelly in hangar five in case you get lonely."
"Appreciate the thought...But this jelly'll do me just fine." - ―An unnamed marine and Beech (from Aliens: Colonial Marines)
During the trip to Bracken's World Beech was assigned to guard the captured Bug-Man but was corrupted by him and Vormitag in exchange for Royal Jelly. While Henry did his briefing, Beech passed some jelly to Rosemas and Chen and was then assigned on maintenance duty and stayed on the ship while all the others departed to the planet. Beech's task was to maintain the ship's orbit to avoid getting attracted by the planet's gravity.
Death[]
- "I forgive you this time, but if you disobey me again you shall no longer receive the Jelly. Your friend Beech will soon know what that is like..."
- ―Bug-Man to Rosemas and Chen about Beech (from Aliens: Colonial Marines)

Beech's final moments.
While alone on the ship, he gets high off Royal Jelly. However the lack of jelly made him fall into a severe withdrawal, making him unable to complete his task, when the Melville 's orbit was decaying, he failed to correct the trajectory and was subsequently obliterated alongside the ship by colliding with the atmosphere.
Equipment[]
Beyond his military fatigues, during the exploration of the SunGun facility, he donned a comm headset and an EVA suit. He was equipped with an unidentified assault rifle equipped with an over-and-under grenade launcher.
Personality and Traits[]
Nothing is really known about Beech except that like his teammates, he was undisciplined and had problems with authority figures. He was also a Xeno-Zip addict and later a Royal Jelly addict.
