Bad Blood (Yautja)

Bad Blood is the phrase used for any Yautja that has turned against its own kind and severely violated aspects of the Yautja Honor Code - intentional or not.

Overview

If an individual has severely violated the Yautja code of honor, they are to be branded a Bad Blood. Only very high ranked seasoned warriors, or very low ranked novices, such as Young Bloods or Un-Blooded, are permitted any leeway as far as the code is concerned. If the individual flees before accepting punishment, there can be no forgiveness according to Predator tradition.^{[citation needed]} Other Predators are allowed to eliminate the outcasts on sight. Bad Bloods are never accepted back into Predator society. Wandering aimlessly, some Bad Bloods have been known to hunt and slay anything alive, including other Predators.

Bad Bloods are generally seen as more hostile and "mentally unstable" Predators. These sadistic hunters still use skills taught to them by their brothers, but use them dishonorably and purely for their own personal gain. Bad Blood equipment is usually the same as a normal Predators, though some have been known to posses unique weapons, like machetes.

Enforcer and Battlemaster Predators are tasked with hunting down known Bad Bloods and eliminating their existence. Whether Enforcers operate as a police caste as bounty hunters, or act solely out of personal duty is unknown.

Known Bad Bloods

• The first official Bad Blood was the Bad Blood Predator, a mentally unstable and psychotic Yautja that began an interplanetary killing spree that led to New Jersey whilst being simultaneously hunted down and almost killed by the Enforcer Predator. Its madness was eventually put to end by ex-C.I.A. member Mandy Graves.
• The Devil was a Predator previously affiliated with a clan that terrorized New York and waged war against Detective John Schaefer. Upon being presumably killed by John and abandoned by his clan, he was driven to a vengeful insanity, thereafter murdering anything it came across, including unarmed personnel and even torturing its victims.
• Tichinde was an ill-tempered, Un-blooded Predator who exhibited signs of dishonor and disrespect even before truly turning Bad Blood. After leaving his pack leader, Dachande, for dead, he murdered another Predator, Aseigan, for dissenting his unlawful claims of leadership, then went on to kill several unarmed humans and claim other unworthy trophies, including children. He once again tried to kill Dachande in a duel, but was promptly killed by the latter.
• The Gotham City Bad Blood was a rash young Predator that hunted the Batman some time after his first encounter with the 'See-through Slasher'. It began a killing spree to find kill his target, possibly for revenge, or obsession with the "champion" of Gotham defeating the experienced hunter, even foregoing camouflage or subtlety in its pursuit. It was hunted by several Predators, possibly Enforcers, trying to stop it, though he manages to kill one of them. The Bad Blood was eventually stopped by Batman and the Huntress, and was ultimately killed by the remaining Enforcer in a kamikaze attack.
• Two-Stripes was an Un-blooded Predator that left fellow hunter Light-Stepper for dead and attempted to claim the latter's Xenomorph kill as his own. He was ultimately caught after his fellows had retrieved Light-Stepper, and Clan Leader Top-Knot had Two-Stripes marooned on their hunting grounds and left at the mercy of the Xenomorphs.
• Machiko Noguchi was a human female who became a part of Top-Knot's Clan to join the hunt. However, once she discovered that the clan had begun hunting humans, she betrayed them and killed several members, siding with the humans that her clan intended to prey upon.
• The Mad Predator was impregnated with a Chestburster, and turned into an Infectoid, which subsequently caused him to go on a murderous rampage in San Drad, California.
• Stone Heart, Swift Knife and Long Spear were all captured and brainwashed by Humans. Despite this, they were labelled as Bad-Bloods and Scarface was tasked with giving them honorable deaths. In that, at least, their honor can be restored.
• The Killers were a clan of ruthless hunters that tracked and killed Yautjas from other clans. Their clan operated a inter-species war in East Africa during the 21st century and fought the honoured Yautja led by Machiko Noguchi during the 22nd Killers War. They also held sway of a tusked variation of Xenomorph.
• Although unconfirmed, Berserker, Tracker and Falconer could be considered Bad Bloods due to their feud with the Crucified Predator.
• The NECA figure bio of Spiked Tail described him as the leader of a clan of Bad Blood mercenaries known as the Rogue Space Tribe.
• Lasershot was one such associate of Spiked Tail - a Bad Blood sociopath obsessed with cybernetic enhancements.
• The silver-masked Predator from Predator: Hunters III showed early-signs of becoming a Bad Blood, having a brazen and callous attitude towards hunting that his bronze-masked comrade highly disapproved of, to the point that the two got into several confrontations regarding the issue. Silver's unstable behaviour ultimately led to bronze having to put him down for good.

Trivia

• Predator Scarface came close to being labelled a Bad Blood, but upon submitting to punishment and exile, he was given a chance to redeem himself and reclaim his titles a century later.
• Though not necessarily a Bad Blood, the Predator Hook from Alien vs. Predator: Thicker Than Blood, was known to have been a disgraced Elder. It could be argued that perhaps it was his title that saved him from receiving the moniker, or that he, like Scarface, accepted banishment.
• It is possible that the Upgrade Predator hailed from a clan that was condemned as Bad Blood for the practice of hybridization, though this is purely speculation.
