"This one seems even bigger than the first creature...But somehow younger...More reckless and ruthless, if that's possible...More bloodthirsty."
Batman regarding the Bad Blood (from Batman versus Predator II: Bloodmatch)

A lone Bad Blood Yautja, also referred to as the Renegade Predator or Young Turk Predator was encountered by the vigilantes Batman and Huntress in Gotham City.

Following Batman's defeat of the 'See-through Slasher', the latter's clan acknowledged Batman as a worthy warrior, and vowed not to hunt in Gotham's premises again.[1] However, a lone, young hunter became fixated on claiming Batman's head as a trophy, who was currently the target of a five million dollar hit placed on him by the gangster Manny Terraro. The young renegade subsequently went against the Yautja code of honor by landing on Gotham and tracking down his target.[2]

Scouring the city of Gotham, he encountered and killed the mercenary sniper 'Marks', who had trailed Batman. The hunter moved on to Gotham City Police Department, attacking Commissioner James Gordon, killing several officers and detaching the Bat-signal. The Predator goes on to witness the vigilante Huntress eavesdrop two criminals above a pool hall. Mistaking her for Batman, he knocks her unconscious, before throwing her aside after realizing his mistake. After the two gangsters notice the Predator and begin opening fire, he crashes through the glass ceiling and the kills them both with ease. The Predator subsequently went to Gotham's palisades and shone the bat-signal from his location, intent on luring Batman to him.

Batman took the bait, and travelled to the hunter's location, only to witness seven severed heads strung up to a tree. The Young Turk went on to attack Batman, resulting in him defeating Batman and stringing him upside down the tree. However, the latter was saved by Huntress, who attacked the renegade and managed to escape with Batman. Suddenly, the bomb-maker Twitch detonated a C4 planted within the Batmobile, though Batman and the Huntress survived. Emerging from the explosion, the Predator killed Twitch with his Plasmacaster and severed his head, before noticing a fellow Predator ship flying past in the distance, intent on tracking him down and eliminating him for violating their treaty.

The Predator would encounter one of these enforcers, subsequently killing and beheading him.

Infiltrating Terraro's quarters, Batman and Huntress confronted Terraro, only for the hunter to violently crash through the walls and impale the mob boss with his Combistick, before retreating.

Batman and the Gotham Police subsequently used the bat-signal to lure the Young Turk to their location. Batman activated his scrambler to reveal any nearby Predators, inadvertently de-cloaking an enforcer. After fled the gunfire as Batman protested, the Bad Blood emerged and killed two members of the 'elite team' accompanying the police force, subsequently kidnapping Lieutenant Frank Stocker and taking him back to his ship. The Predator would go on to kill the final assassin, Scarlatti and behead him, as Batman and Huntress tracked the renegade back to his ship in the palisades.

The two entered the ship, where they witnessed Stocker yell to them that he was bait to lure them in. The Bad Blood subsequently lifted his ship as he ambushed the two, engaging in a brawl with them.

Final Battle and Death[]

The Young Turk kills Stocker after being impaled.

Batman and Huntress assaulted the Predator in a violent onslaught, but the Bad Blood repelled the two with an energy discharge. Just before it moved on to kill Huntress, Stocker interfered and impaled the Predator with his combistick. The Bad Blood killed Stocker, before slumping into the control panel, the combistick interfering with the ship mainframe.

In an effort to lose the two, the Young Turk opened the ship's hatch and dropped Batman and Huntress from the sky, intending to retreat. However, the enforcer's ship emerged from Gotham's waters and chased the Bad Blood down. In a suicide attack to fulfil their mission no matter what, the enforcer's ship emitted a powerful energy blast that caused both ships to explode, killing the enforcers and ending the Young Turk's rampancy for good.

Personality and Traits[]

"The first monster was cold and methodical...But with this one I sense the element of hate."
Batman regarding the Predator (from Batman versus Predator II: Bloodmatch)

Rebellious and uncontrollable, the Bad Blood rejected the truce held between Batman and the Yautja, instead seeking to hunt him down and claim his head. As such, the Predator would kill whoever got in his way, including those who targeted Batman for themselves, and even his own kind. The motivations behind his actions are unknown, though Batman noted that he sensed hatred within the creature, suggesting that the Predator's motivations may have been out of revenge or spite.

Though relatively skilled, the young renegade was violent and undisciplined, and his obsession with killing Batman exuded a total absence of stealth or subtlety during his rampage across Gotham City.

Equipment[]

The Bad Blood possessed a typical Yautja assortment, though it notably possessed a device that allowed it to discharge large amounts of energy, emitting a strong electric pulse that propelled enemies back.

Trivia[]

  • A notable goof from Blood Match is that the Predator is seen using Bio-mask optical features in a POV shot, despite his mask being removed.
