Plot[]
Two years after the Prosperity Wells incident, Machiko Noguchi has established a comfortable life within Ryushi by herself. One day, she witnesses the landing of the seeding shuttle, eagerly awaiting the hunting party to arrive soon after and hoping to offer an "explanation" as to what happened to their leader, Broken Tusk. Saving a subordinate from a Xenomorph, Machiko presents herself to Top-Knot, the replacement Leader to Broken Tusk, who recognizes his mark on her forehead and welcomes her into his clan to join the hunt.

Reprint History[]
Following its original release, the short story was subsequently integrated into the first full Aliens vs. Predator series for its trade paperback release, titled Aliens versus Predator, in December 1991. For this release, the story was colored by Monika Livingston. The short has been collected as a part of the full series ever since.
Behind the Scenes[]
Dark Horse Presents Fifth Anniversary Special contained another Aliens/Predator/Aliens vs. Predator comic story, namely Aliens: Reapers.
Trivia[]
- A continuity error within the short story is that although several Rhynth are used as hosts by the Xenomorphs, the resulting specimens are simply Drones; the idea of Xenomorphs taking on the features of their hosts was not properly established until one year later following the release of Alien3.
