Aliens: The Official Movie Book is a 1986 promotional magazine containing articles about the film Aliens, published by Starlog Press. The magazine includes a brief photonovel adaptation of the film, along with articles on several of the principle actors and crew and their roles in the film. Alongside the written information, the magazine contains a wealth of exclusive behind the scenes images, as well as several pull-out posters.
The magazine consists mainly of behind the scenes articles, including an extensive interview with writer/director James Cameron and producer Gale Anne Hurd, and profile pieces on cast members Sigourney Weaver, Michael Biehn and Lance Henriksen (who play Ripley, Corporal Hicks and Bishop, respectively). In addition to these, the book contains a "Battle Record", a 10-page photonovel adaptation of Aliens featuring dozens of colour images from the film, and a wealth of behind the scenes photos annotated by key members of the design and effects crew that worked on the film — specifically Stan Winston, Ron Cobb and visual effects supervisor Brian Johnson. Finally, at the rear of the book are four double-sided pull-out posters of the film's creatures and cast.
