Aliens: Purge is a one-shot comic book that was first published by Dark Horse Comics in August 1997. It was written by Ian Edginton, pencilled by Phil Hester, inked by Ande Parks, colored by Chris Chalenor, lettered by Gary Fields, and edited by Philip Amara and David Land, with cover art by Den Beauvais.

In Dark Horse's Aliens comics line, Aliens: Purge was preceded by Aliens: Havoc, and was followed by Aliens: Alchemy.

Publisher's Summary[]

Sybaris 503 is on the verge of a major breakthrough. They've discovered that hosts infected with leprosy have a longer-than-normal gestation period for Alien Chestbursters. Before they can understand why, their funding runs out, and the "corporate financial liquidators" are sent in to seize all assets. Including the human hosts. But they'll have to go through Eloise to get them.

Aliens: Purge was eventually collected as part of Aliens Omnibus: Volume 6 in December 2008.

The comic was released digitally through Dark Horse Digital on August 21, 2013, reusing Den Beauvais's cover art.

Marvel Comics[]

Following Marvel Comics' acquisition of the rights to Alien comic books, the comic was collected as part of Marvel's Aliens: The Original Years Volume 3 collection, alongside many other later Dark Horse stories. The collection was released on November 22, 2022.

Behind the Scenes[]

United Kingdom-based comics writer Ian Edginton worked on numerous Aliens, Predator and Aliens vs. Predator projects for Dark Horse Comics over the years, starting with the story Aliens: Rogue.

This story of Purge is continued in Aliens vs. Predator: Pursuit, which was also written by Edginton.

Artist Phil Hester has worked on numerous comics during his career, including his creator-owned indie series The Coffin and a well-known stint as artist on DC Comics' popular Green Arrow series with film director/writer Kevin Smith.
