Alien: A Biomechanical Symphony is a soundtrack album featuring music from Alien, Aliens, Alien3, Alien Resurrection and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem conducted by Diego Navarro and featuring the Tenerife Film Orchestra and Choir.[1] The album was released in 2012[2] and is a limited edition of 3000 copies.[1]
Overview[]
This 2-disc set includes a DVD of the concert and a CD of just the music. A DVD booklet is also included.[1]
Development[]
In July of 2009, the 30th anniversary of Alien was marked by paying special tribute to Jerry Goldsmith's score from the film at the closing night gala of Fimucité 3 in Tenerife. Specifically for this occasion, Alien: A Biomechanical Symphony was created, which presented music from all four original Alien films (with the sequel scores being composed by James Horner, Elliot Goldenthal and John Frizzell). Also, as "a special encore," Brian Tyler's Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem was included. Diego Navarro led the Tenerife Film Orchestra and Choir in the concert premiere.[1]
