"All right, you bastard, I got you now!"
―The Big Game Predator (from Predator: Big Game)

Adilgashii, meaning Witch in Navajo, also known as the pilot, and the Big Game Predator,[1] was a lone Predator that conducted multiple hunts in New Mexico in the 20th century.

After being encountered by his Great-grandfather 75 years prior, the Predator would go on to have multiple run-ins with Corporal Enoch Nakai, after he began hunting around a US military encampment. Nakai would eventually defeat and kill the Predator.

Characteristics and Traits[]

The Adilgashii was a highly dangerous hunter, also very tenacious. Despite this, it exhibited questionable behavior to that of a traditionally honorable hunter. Though it was above killing children, it seemingly had no qualms with killing defenceless animals, such as boars or sheep, alongside humans that posed little to no threat. Specifically, it claimed the head of a man who died in a car crash after being distracted by the hunter. As such, it seemed preoccupied less so with the honor of the hunt and more with the sheer sport of killing itself.

Biography[]

Hunt in Two-Witch Mesa[]

"My father said that though he'd been right to be frightened...He doubted even the angry ghosts of the old ones were capable of doing what was done to those guards that night."
Nakai's Grandfather (from Predator: Blood on Two-Witch Mesa)

At some point, the Big Game Predator visited Earth to conduct hunts in the state of New Mexico in the early 20th century.

The Predator reveals himself.

He eventually encountered an American drill site being set up within the sacred Navajo grounds of Two-Witch Mesa. Overnight, he would attack several drunken workers and kill at least six of them, flaying two, and stringing them up on a nearby tree.

The following morning, the enraged workers believed the bloody killings to be the work of the Navajo, and attacked a nearby group, one of them including Enoch Nakai's Great-grandfather who they took prisoner. More Navajo returned the next day, and would engage in a skirmish with the workers. The hunter would take advantage of the chaos, and began picking off several victims with his Plasmacaster. Suddenly, a stray bullet struck the Predator in the arm, and it let out a roar of pain, with everyone stopping and staring in shock. The Predator subsequently retreated after the local sheriff and his men arrived, causing him to flee from the gunfire.

Nakai's Great-grandfather would later be given a Predator Speargun dart by a widow whose husband was killed by the creature. He would go on to never speak of the events he witnessed again, beyond telling the story to his son and gifting him the dart.

Hunt in Cibola County[]

"And believe me, Colonel, the blast that destroyed Cole Military Base is the least of our problems!"

The Adilgashii.

The Big Game Predator would return once again, landing within the prairies of New Mexico and lingering nearby the Cole Army Base in the Cibola County. As Corporal Enoch Nakai and his friend Dietl were out on an anti-aircraft patrol, the Predator suddenly ambushed the two, blasting a massive hole through Dietl with his Plasmacaster. Nakai believed the assailant was an 'Adilgashii' - a witch, and fled.

The Predator kills two soldiers.

Nakai approached Colonel Athelry and Sergeant Coates at a site where the Predator's Scout Ship had been discovered, and revealed his encounter to them. Nakai was subsequently given a three-day pass, and was temporarily relieved.

Two soldiers were later sent by Coates to retrieve Dietl's corpse from the scene of the killing. Upon being met with Dietl's skinned body hung from a tree, the Adilgashii attacked and killed the two.

Realizing that his ship had been seized, the Predator activated his Wrist gauntlet and set the ship to self-destruct. As Athelry and Coates were examining the ship, it suddenly self-destructed, destroying the entirety of Cole Base.

The Adilgashii would go on to extend its rampancy to a nearby ranch, killing two sheep, two herders and two local lawmen, leaving only one of the herder's sons alive.

The Predator emerges and slaughters Amblin's squad.

During nightfall, the Adilgashii retreated to the prairies of New Mexico, and began working on his Wrist gauntlet, Nakai, who had returned to investigate the destruction of Cole, began spying on the hunter. Nakai managed to hide before it noticed him. As the Predator became suspicious, it was suddenly attacked by a vicious mountain Lion, giving Nakai enough time to flee.

The Predator managed to kill the Lion, and moved onto the small town of Agate, claiming his latest trophy after inadvertently killing a man who drove into a lamp post. It was suddenly intercepted by Enoch in a military jeep with a rocket launcher. A small firefight ensued, and the hunter managed to escape, with Major Amblin being ordered by Colonel Trench to pursue it. The Adilgashii would go on to stalk Amblin's squad, killing a few stragglers. Just as Nakai had caught up with Amblin, the Predator was attacked by an Apache helicopter, and although it seemed to have finally ended the hunter, it was suddenly destroyed by the latter, moving on to Amberlin's squad and slaughtering them with his Plasmacaster.

Final Fight with Nakai and Death[]

"He wasn't sleeping. He was recovering. The fall form the tree had hurt him. He was wounded, exhausted, and probably weighed a ton. So any fall was sure to do him damage."

Nakai encounters the Adilgashii

Nakai had managed to escape the massacre, and began tracking him the next day. Nakai eventually located his Adilgashii resting within a jungle surrounded by igneous rock. Nakai rushed through the jungle towards the Predator's position, but was suddenly intercepted by a booby-trap, and had his right arm impaled and seriously wounded. Enoch's screams alert the Predator, and he moves in to attack. Enoch managed to briefly fend off the attacker with his M60, before it intercepted him and destroyed the weapon. Enoch fled the scene with the Adilgashii in hot pursuit, but the Predator, still exhausted, fell from a tree branch after it broke under his weight, allowing him to escape.

After setting the forest on fire, Nakai managed to lure the Predator up to a rock formation, before it suddenly fell into a sixty-foot trap hole set by Nakai. However, it suddenly emerged and grabbed Nakai. As he prepared to go in for the kill, gunshots from a distance distracted the Adilgashii (the forest fire ignited the shells from Nakai's M60), giving Nakai enough time to grab his handgun and kill the creature once and for all. Nakai would go on to sever its head and show it to Colonel Trench.

Legacy[]

The Predators' destruction of Cole Army Base would be declared an "ordnance accident". Due to Nakai's experience in killing a Predator, he was later approached by a government agent in the hopes of taking a job dedicated to hunting down other Predators. However, after he realized that they were more interested in acquiring the creatures' gear, he declined.

Years later, Nakai would be approached again, this time by billionaire Jaya Soames, who would recruit him into the Hunters, a covert organization dedicated to killing Predators.

Equipment[]

The Adilgashii was equipped with a typical Yautja assortment, though he did possess a unique bola weapon that he used to kill a local lawman. He specifically seemed to be a fond advocate of the Plasmacaster, and used it extensively during his hunt in Cibola County.
