- "This UPP weapon is a pulse grade AK–104 rifle reconfigured and built into an armored exoskeleton forearm and shoulder housing."
- ―Overview of the AK–104S (from Alien: The Roleplaying Game — Colonial Marines Operations Manual)
The Norcomm AK–104S Pulse Action Suit Gun was a model of wrist-mounted assault rifle employed by the Union of Progressive Peoples during the 22nd century. The AK–104S was built into the UPP's CCC5 Combat Compression Suit, and could also be wielded by Fighting Joe combat androids.
Overview[]
Manufactured by Norcomm, the AK–104S Suit Gun was designed for flexibility and convenience, allowing users to defend themselves without having to carry individual firearms whilst in compression suits. Based around a pulse grade AK-104 rifle repurposed and integrated into a standard CCC5 Combat Compression Suit's forearm and shoulder housing, the weapon was fed by an internal armor–piercing ammo belt supplied by an ammunition pack mounted beside the suit's oxygen tanks. This setup presented a glaring vulnerability, however; if struck by fire, the belt risked exploding and igniting the suit's oxygen tank, killing the user.[2]
Notable users[]
The AK–104S was used by the Union of Progressive Peoples' military forces, such as The Union of Progressive People's Army and the Space Operating Forces for boarding operations.[2] Fighting Joe combat androids stationed at the Norcomm Ouragan Testing Facility on the UPP planet KOI-571.02 were also equipped with the AK–104S.
Behind the scenes[]
The AK–104S Suit Gun made its first appearance in the non–canon William Gibson's Alien 3: The Unproduced Screenplay.
