The 8 Eta Boötis System contained two stars collectively designated 8 Eta Boötis and was located in the Borodino Sector of the Outer Rim Territories at a distance of roughly 37.17 light-years or 11.4 parsecs Coreward from the Sol System. The system was proximal to Arcturus, and was part of the Arcturus Loop.
History[]
The system's resources and its location—a mere three parsecs from the Border between the Union of Progressive Peoples and the United Americas—made it a flashpoint of many armed conflicts throughout the 2100s, culminating in 2162 with the Tientsin Campaign on 8 Eta Boötis A III.[1]
