8 Eta Boötis A III, known as Tientsin,[1] was a planet located in the 8 Eta Boötis System of the Outer Rim Territories. Initially an independent world, 8 Eta Boötis A III was later struck by a destructive conflict.
History[]
In 2162, the Union of Progressive Peoples sponsored an uprising against the local government at the Tientsin colony on 8 Eta Boötis A III. The United Americas intervened, deploying the United States Colonial Marine Corps to defend the local regime; amid the fighting, the colonial population took up arms and was effectively split between the UA and the UPP. Both parties eventually withdrew from the conflict, leaving the civilians in a state of emergency. The environment on 8 Eta Boötis A III was later devastated by a panoply of nuclear strikes, depleting local resources and complicating local mining efforts.
