I don't like the prequels, mainly because of the story. I can deal with the fact that Xenomorphs were supposedly created by the engineers (not fully however), but I do not like the idea of the black goo creating us humans and how the engineers are humanoid looking (I prefer to call them space jockey's), why couldn't they settle on the gigantic elephant face design? With Alien: Earth coming soon, we should be aware that the show will be "ignoring" what happened in the prequels, and i'm so glad they're doing that. I think it's time the [Alien] franchise got some major retcons. I'll admit that the prequels aren't bad films. (they're mid) As they are intended to be the backstory of the Xenomorphs, theres one question that Alien: Covenant failed to answer to us, What happened on LV-426, how did that Space Jockey end up getting infected and killed, How did the Derelict Alien Vessel crash on that place, what about the Queen that layed all those eggs, Is LV-426 the home planet of the Xenomorphs? (probably not) Why are there Xenomorphs everywhere in the Zeta Reticuli System and how did they spread across the system? How were the Xenomorph's
discovered? (unless the characters in Alien: Earth described them)
Also, I still believe Xenomorphs are natural organisms

Okay, so huge fan of Alien and Aliens. I had seen all of the Alien franchise (including AVP and AVPR), with the exception of Prometheus and Alien: Covenant up until tonight. I watched both Prometheus and Alien: Covenant tonight and it left me with A LOT of questions and confusion. Just going based SOLELY on what was shown and said in the films, I feel like there’s a lot of continuity issues (which I know have been discussed at length on here). But I guess one of my biggest questions is how did they know the Engineer they sent to Earth to create the human race was going to disintegrate and “seed” the Earth?
In Alien: Covenant, David describes that the “virus”, or black goo as we so lovingly refer to it, will either kill its host or basically create some iteration of a Xenomorph. We know this is true because of the flash back of him dropping the black goo down from the heavens upon the Engineers on Planet 4. So how in the blazes did the Engineers in Prometheus know that the dude they sent down to Earth wouldn’t just end up hosting a morph of some kind?!
Also, where does the black goo even come from? And why did Dr. Shaw just assume that the Engineers wanted to go back to Earth to destroy humans? They never showed anything to suggest that, in my opinion. The Engineer who was still alive just seemed like he was annoyed that he had been awaken from his slumber and he just wanted to get home to his people! Idk about you, but if a bunch of tiny humans woke me up and all my buddies were dead, I’d be trying to steal their ship to try and get home to my family too.
AND in Prometheus they never confirmed what the Engineers were trying to get away from/ what killed them! Ugh the frustration and confusion is real.
Food for thought…

Are space jockeys and engineers one and the same as we thought, maybe and maybe not and I ask this because the original space jockey in alien 1979 was way bigger than the engineers are in prometheus and here is the size comparison
The space jockey of alien 1979 next to a human, space jockeys were 26 feet tall according to ridley Scott and engineers were 10 to 15 feet tall
Below is an engineer if it was 15 feet tall
The Deacon, as some may remember was the surprise semi-Xeno seen at the end
of Prometheus, the product of the trilobite impregnating an engineer, however the deacon’s story was never truly finished, best we got was the comic series Fire and Stone implying that the Deacon had consumed a lot of pathogen and become a mountain. I’ve seen some people talk about how they’d like to see the ultramorph appear as a boss but, I think the Deacon would make more sense, and the initial idea for fire and stone had an adult Deacon in it(https://www.alien-covenant.com/topic/43120). and with the heavy leaning into the lore with the engineers it’s not unreasonable as something that could be seen within the future.
As for how this could be explained in game, the trilobite Initially was created as a by product of a person infected by the pathogen impregnating someone, so with the shear amount of people who had been working at site two, and the way in which SN/TH/YA infected most of them by finding a loophole in her code, it’s not too much of a stretch that maybe she had conducted some experiments using human test subject or those working at site two had conducted such experiments. either way it’s likely the destroying of the Capacitors woke (if there were any in cryo) engineers, ergo trilobite plus engineer equals Deacons or ideally monstrous adult Deacon.

In Prometheus and Alien: Covenant show that it was David who took the engineer's goo and did a bunch of experiments on Elizabeth to eventually create the Xenomorph race, but this makes absolutely no sense continuity-wise. Xenomorphs have been around for thousands, if not millions of years. You just have to look at the other movies to see this.
In Alien, Ripley's crew discover the engineer's ship where they find the Xenomorph eggs, one in which attaches to Kane and sets the events of the movie in motion. Supposedly, these could be the descendants of the Deacon that appeared at the end of Prometheus (that or David returned to the planet with his perfected Xenomorph design). Alien takes place about 30 years after Prometheus. However, we saw the fossilized corpse of an engineer that had been a victim of a Chestburster that was so old it had grown onto the chair. The engineer's corpse wouldn't be in such a state after just 30 something years. Plus, the Xenomorphs that appear in the Alien franchise are supposed to be the final results from all the experiments that David did to perfect the Xenomorph design.
In Predator 2, we saw the skull trophy the Yautja had of a Xenomorph, and that movie takes place in 1997, about a 100 years before Prometheus happens. So Xenomorph's were already around long before when David created them in 2100+.
Alien vs. Predator, plus the novels, comics, and games, show that the Yautja have been hunting/been at war with Xenomorphs for thousands, if not millions of years, at least since ancient times.
So now matter how you slice it, David being the designer/creator of the Xenomorphs makes no sense and doesn't fit in with the timeline/continuity.
Anyone want to see a crossover with Alien and Species? I think it would be pretty interesting. The Facehugger could even impregnate the Species in it for a Species-Xenomorph hybrid that has the same regenerative ability and is even more deadly. It can be kind of like Alien vs. Predator: Requiem (only good). The Species lore can even tie into the Alien/Prometheus lore, like the alien DNA that was obtained to create Sil came from the Engineers. They could even have a battle between the Species and the Species-Xenomorph hybrid. Does this sound interesting to anyone?
As somebody who loves the aliens comics, I was wondering on whether people think the comics are cannon or not
