So, I am very stupid. Was the Second Engineer a survivor of the Pathogen outbreak in the LV-223 temple along with the Last Engineer or did the Second Engineer arrive after? I feel as if the answer is very obvious and I’m missing it.

Are you referring to Prometheus (film) or a Fire&Stone / Life&Death comic?
@SynthNorbert well the Second Engineer is the one from Life & Death while the Last Engineer was the one from Prometheus. The Last Engineer was found in a sarcophagus in the LV-223 temple but so was the Second Engineer. I am wondering if the Last Engineer wasn’t the only survivor or if the Second Engineer came after that event
Gotcha!
Quick answer: They were not on the same ship. The film implied there were a number of other temples and buried ships with hibernating pilots all over the moon.
Long answer: Chronologically, in Life & Death, which takes place over 100 years after Prometheus (film) where the "last Engineer" was killed from birthing the Deacon, the "Life & Death Engineer" was woken from cryo on LV-797, who then chased the marines back to LV-223, where it woke the "second engineer" from cryo on its own ship (different from the ship in Prometheus, which was destroyed) to help hunt down the marines. I guess I need to go back and read it since my memory of this whole situation is foggy, but I'm almost positive that's how it went down.
Does this make more sense?
Also, you're not stupid. Sometimes it just takes a second or third read through to really understand what's going on. And reading through 34 consecutive issues of F&S/L&D ain't easy, bruther. That's why there's a wiki.
It also doesn’t help that the Engineers all look more or less identical.
What do you think?
