The Alien shared universe problem

Hi everyone. I'm currently putting together a video series on the Alien franchise and its links to other films. This is an idea I've had for several years now and it's a topic that seems to have been missed by the wider community, so I aim to fix that.

The video basically explains how the films of the Alien series, the Predator series, the Blade Runner films including the spin off Soldier, and the original Total Recall, are all within a single continuity, alongside explanations for how these films can work even with the potential canon breaks of the Alien prequels.

This is a genuine thing that I've researched and looked into, and aims to stick only to in-universe explanation rather than any level of "head canon", although obviously certain leaps in logic require a level of filling in the gaps. The eventually goal is to just raise awareness of this and hopefully pass it on up the chain from my film contacts all the way to someone who can actually make sure this isn't undone by future films, because it's currently sitting together well and I would hate to see it fall apart because of one director or one film that didn't stick to it.

My question to the members of this Fandom is this:

What potential issues, canon discrepancies, and timeline issues do you see with the idea that these films of four franchises, are actually within a shared universe?

I want to hear every argument, every potential problem, so that I can put them into my working and help iron out these potential problems early on.

I've already found and answered a ton of these problems, but it's always worth finding others before they litter the comments lol

Simple answer, they aren't and it's a common misconception

Aliens and Predators may have crossed over but they existed in a different continuity aka stuff like the events of predator never happen in say the Aliens film because they dont exist there

The Godzilla franchise itself consists of multiple separate continuities that may share some similarities but are very different in other aspects to the point they are their own timelines

@Scribelord thing is, the only film that could potentially stop the Predator franchise from existing alongside the Alien franchise, would be if the third prequel Ridley Scott keeps threatening to make actually comes out and retcons the original ship.

Ignoring the fact that Prometheus and Covenant are so close to not working alongside the original series of films anyway, the idea that the Xenomorphs have only existed since a decade before the first film would ruin them to an unforgivable degree, as well as creating even more plotholes.

As it currently stands, there is nothing that stops the AvP films from working alongside the Alien films. We simply have to accept that in a universe where Xenomorphs have been a part of the human psyche for millennia, David was programmed to, or discovered files suggesting he should, recreate them.

As weird as that sounds on the surface, it makes a lot more sense than the timeline that the prequels are setting up, which suggests that the distress call from the original Alien was heard a hundred years before Prometheus, then David created the Xenomorphs, then the original ship crashed and sent out a distress call, then the creature in the seat somehow grew twice as big as any of the creatures currently in the franchise, and then fossiled in under a decade.

Anyways, I'm more looking for reasons it won't work rather than a blanket statement lol

I think it makes more sense to have avp it's own timeline cause then you have to throw in fire and stone and life and death into the mix as well
